It’s been awhile since I just wrote. Most of my posts have a purpose. A list or a recipe or something. But what I really miss is just writing. Just talking about life and all it’s ups and downs.  It’s so easy to forget that sharing REAL life is so important. Sharing what goes on in the day to day is what I think helps me connect to you, and...

Thank you for your support.*** I am a HUGE fan of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) based toys for my kids. I love that they can play and play and play and not realize...

I totally remember the first time someone talked to me about Shakeology. I didn’t even LOOK at the nutrition information or any of the facts about it. All I saw was the price and I didn’t look any further. There was NO WAY it was worth that much right? I mean… $4/day? I could make green smoothies on my own for half that price! So I did. I shared lots of recipes on my blog of smoothies that I was making. I thought I was being SO healthy with my green smoothie. I mean, there was TWO CUPS of spinach in it. It had to be...

I already know this post isn’t going to be a popular one. But it’s one I feel like I need to share. Because thankfully, we live in a country where it’s okay for me to have my own opinion.  I believe that: “THE FAMILY is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when...

I’m sort of A.D.D. when it comes to fitness programs. I’m so thankful for on demand because it allows me to jump from one program to another without having to actually buy each program. I do three or four different programs each week, because I figure that as long as I’m getting in some exercise each day, I’m good. But if someone asks me what my favorite program is, and what got me the most results, hands down I’ll tell you the 21 Day Fix, every time. The portion controlled eating system has changed my life....

The kids were all asleep at the same time a few weeks ago so I put Beachbody on demand on my phone and got my workout done outside. There is an old dirty mirror out there. I usually avoid looking at mirrors while I’m working out. In the past, they’ve frustrated me and made me self conscious. Old habits die hard because I was avoiding this mirror today. Half way through the workout, I caught a glimpse of myself, and I almost started crying. My reflection isn’t something that I’m ashamed of anymore, and I’m...

If you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you know it’s changed dramatically over the last 2.5 years. I didn’t really have a plan for what this blog was going to be, honestly because I didn’t have a plan for what I was going to be.  I started this blog as a way to document some family recipes. My goal was 100. I honestly don’t know if I’ve reached that goal or not. Not long into it, I realized that this blog could be an awesome way to connect with other moms in my same walk of life,...

I feel like I do a pretty good job of showing all the high lights of my life. I share all my successes and all the fun things I do with my kids.  I try hard to show the REAL picture. I want to inspire people. I want to show them that it is POSSIBLE to feel good, to be productive, to workout, keep a (mostly) clean house, whatever it is that they WANT to do, it’s possible.  But it’s hard to show an accurate picture of that without staging things too much. I’d been thinking for awhile of HOW to do it.  Then...

I’ve been away from the blog for awhile. I’ve contemplated quitting it all together, but so much time and love has gone into the making of this blog and building the following that I have that I can’t let myself do that. It’s been about 6 months since Traci or I have blogged consistently. There are a few reasons for this.  1. I had a baby. She is now 4 months old and is seriously the cutest thing ever. She’s such an easy baby and fits into our family perfectly. It’s hard to believe that we are now...
