I already know this post isn’t going to be a popular one. But it’s one I feel like I need to share. Because thankfully, we live in a country where it’s okay for me to have my own opinion.
I believe that:
“THE FAMILY is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed.” – The Family: A Proclamation To The World.
I believe that everyone is entitled to their own choices. I believe that agency is one of the best gifts we have been given on this earth. I believe we have a Father in Heaven who wants us to be happy, not just in this life, but for all eternity, and I believe He knows and has laid out for us the plan for that happiness.
I believe we have the choice to choose our actions, but we are not free from the consequences of our actions.
I believe that we are a blessed people who have been given so much instruction and guidance for this plan of happiness, if we choose to accept it.
I believe that there are many, many people who feel the same way that I do that are too scared to speak up for fear of being attacked for their beliefs or fear of being misunderstood. And I believe that it will only get worse.
I believe in the family. I believe in God. I believe in eternal happiness. I believe in standing up for those beliefs and teaching them to my children. These are things I will believe and defend no matter what changes in the world around me.
Have courage to stand up for what you believe is right. The world needs more people willing to stand up, even if they are standing alone.Share
