My Facebook news feed is full of people talking about the new changes to the LDS church policy, especially in regards to children of same sex couples.  I have some thoughts about this that I feel prompted to share. I pray that my intentions come across as pure and that you will read this post with an open mind. I have many friends who are in same gender relationships and I love them very much. So often our minds are made up about issues before we really look into what they are about, and I’d just like to share my perspective...

Happy Sunday Everyone! I have to say, Sunday’s can be pretty packed and intense, but they are still definitely my favorite day of the week. I get to get dressed up, my husband wears a suit that makes him look like James Bond,we dress up the kiddos, and all go to church, as a family. We get to learn and teach and spend time focusing on what is most important in out lives. Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and our Forever Family. I recently heard about, and didn’t really want to chose not to read an article about a lady who pretty...

As we start a New Year, I just wanted to share a little uplifting message with you all. As you may (or may not) know, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If you want to learn more about my beliefs and receive a free book of Mormon from me, click here.  It can be really hard to keep moving forward in life sometimes, especially when we feel like we aren’t progressing in the way we’d like. The Lord has amazing things in store for us, but it is SO hard to see that sometimes. I know that if we...

Last year, I made a chalkboard poster for the LDS Young Women theme. I love it, still do. I wanted to do something a little more elegant to match the poster I made for the mutual yearly theme. So… here it is. You can download it for free. Just click on the size you want under the poster. If you like it, please pin it and/or share it on facebook or where ever else you like to share awesome things. Thanks!   Download a 16 X 20 or 11 x 14   Download an 8 X 10   Share Share this:PrintTweetEmailMorePocketShare...

Hey all! Merry Christmas! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day today. I know I am. This time of year is my favorite. I love that we get to take a break from the every day and be grateful for all we’ve been given. This time of year is a time when I (and I’m sure many of you) like to focus on the Savior and what He did for me. The sacrifices he made are unfathomable to me. It is amazing that He loved each of us so much that He was willing to give everything for us. I am so grateful for Heavenly Father’s plan and...

A few weeks ago, I shared a poster of the 2014 LDS Mutual Theme with you all. I promised bookmarks and handouts. I finally have the bookmarks finished. The handouts will have to be saved for another post. I hope you enjoy these bookmarks! It’s a great way for the youth to see the theme without having a huge poster hung in their room. I left the top blank so you can either shorten the bookmarks if you’d like them to be smaller, or leave them full size.  Click here to download   Share Share this:PrintTweetEmailMorePocketShare...

I have been thinking about this post for a bit, and have really felt like it is something I would like to share 🙂 I really enjoyed Markell’s Keeping Christ in Christmas Post, and this will go along with it quite well 🙂 This is the first year since my husband and I have been married that we will not be with our parents/siblings for Christmas. We have been married 5 years {Friday!} and although I am really bummed not to be with family, I am super excited to start some traditions. We don’t have too many, but a few that...

Every year, my church picks a new theme for the youth program. It is always a scripture. The theme is used to help plan special activities like Girl’s Camp. Last year, I made a poster of the theme, along with a poster of the Young Women Motto.  I decided to make one this year as well. I absolutely love the 2014 theme. It reads: “Come unto Christ and be perfected in Him and deny yourself of all ungodliness” Moroni 10:32 Love it. How powerful is that scripture?  Anyway, here is the poster. I am working on...

Hey all! I like to try and start off each month by sharing a spiritual message of some sort. As many of you may know, I am LDS (mormon). One of the biggest reasons I like to blog is to have an opportunity (when it arises) to share my testimony with others. During the Christmas season, it seems like that opportunity comes up more often.  It can be super super hard to remember the reason for the season. Having just got back from some Black Friday shopping, I can attest to this fact. Christmas is often more about the gifts than about...

This post is part of a series on helping families get closer together. Today’s post was kind of hard for me to write because I really don’t know much about it, but I do know that it is a great way to get closer to your family.  What I’m talking about today is family history work. That is a term heard a lot in the church, but I have noticed that it is popular both in and out of the church. I see adds all the time telling me that I can out if I’m related to the people who came over on the Mayflower or if I have...
