// This recipe for salmon souffle is another one of my husband’s favorites. It kind of reminds me of quiche, except with salmon instead of breakfast meat. It is really easy to make, and it a little different than most dinners. If you like salmon, you’ll probably like this. Small warning – when you open the can of salmon, there will probably...

This is another recipe given to me by a reader. It, like all the food I make, was delicious. (Okay, maybe this blog thing is going to my head). The same lady who gave me the recipe for Oatmeal Applesauce Cookies. I made this on a night that my husband went camping, because he hates lasagna (his loss.) This recipe was easy (thus the name), and I will definitely be making it again… next time he’s gone… Here is what you need to make Easy Lasagna 1/2 lb hamburgerItalian seasoning1 can spaghetti sauce (If you don’t...

Have you entered our current giveaway? My husband has been asking me to make homemade chicken noodle soup since we got married. His grandmother makes some AMAZING homemade chicken noodle soup. She even makes the noodles. I am not that awesome yet. I’m pretty sure that when you become a grandmother, your cooking skills automatically go up by a power of 10. At least. She is a wonderful cook. Anyway, I knew mine wouldn’t compare to hers, so I have been hesitant to try it. Plus, you can get chicken noodle soup in the can so cheap!...

My husband loves hashbrowns. But, I don’t. I don’t really mind eating them, but I HATE making them. Not anymore, though! I had seen this floating around on pinterest, but never actually clicked on a link because I figured it probably didn’t work or was too much hassle or some other dumb reason. Probably because I didn’t want to add anymore to my thousands of pins. Seriously, thousands… Anyway… I decided to try it. All I did was wash three golden potatoes, grate them in a cheese grater, and add some...

Everyone loves enchiladas right? Right. But you know what every does not love? Making them. I hate having to roll the tortillas and do all that. It’s too much work. My first solution to this problem Enchilada Casserole. In that dish, you omit tortillas and add noodles instead. But what if you want tortillas but don’t want to roll them? What’s a...

I have never made clam chowder before… I’m pretty sure that I’ve only eaten it once. But, awhile ago, my husband bought a few cans of clams and asked me if I’d make it. That was like… a year ago. So, I decided it was time to finally try it out. I looked at a LOT of different recipes and decided to kind of do my own thing. It was pretty easy, and it turned out REALLY good (I thought, although I’m obviously not a good judge since I never eat it). Anyway, on to the recipe! Here’s what you need:...

A friend of mine sent me a recipe for this one. It was pretty good and really easy. I made it a few days ago, so hopefully I can remember exactly what I did… For the recipe, you need:  half an onion 1 lb ground beef 3 or 4 carrots 3 or 4 celery stalks 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon dried parsley 4 tablespoons butter 3 cups chicken broth 4 cups potatoes 1/2 cup flour 8 ounces cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cup milk  3/4 teaspoon salt pepper to taste  First,  I browned about a pound of hamburger meat with some onions and green peppers....

I know what you’re thinking… Leeks??? What??? I had heard of these before but if the wasn’t enough to turn me off of them, the way they looked were. I mean.. I know I’m not supposed to judge a book by its color… or a veggie by it’s appearance, but these are some weird looking things. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t have ever bought them. I participate in a co-op here called Bountiful Baskets. It’s an organization that is made up by volunteers. The way it works is at the first of the week,...

My grandma loves to write. I am pretty sure I inherited my love of writing from her. She has books and books full of things she has written. I have always admired her and her dedication to her passions. She is a mother of 7 and a grandmother of who knows how many. She always has a smile on her face, and food in the oven 🙂 One of my favorite memories of her is a time when I was at her house and she gave me breakfast in the morning. It was a bowl of cereal topped with a scoop of ice cream. Best breakfast ever. Why not have dessert first...

This recipe is my husband’s baby. He is always the one who makes this. Every time we get a big group together, this is the recipe that we use. It’s super easy to feed TONS of people with it, and everyone loves it. Plus, there is hardly any work that needs to be done. For this recipe, you need a pork shoulder roast (or beef), a crock pot, bbq sauce, a rootbeer (Andre will only use Henry’s) and garlic salt. Rub the garlic salt over your pork. Place it in the crock pot and pour in some rootbeer. Andre usually takes a little...
