Have I ever mentioned how much I Love my Mother in law? Seriously, I won the jackpot. I have ALWAYS heard SO MANY horror stories about bad mother in laws and issues, and I was honestly planning on having to work through some things, but, when I met my husband’s Mom I was so excited! I have been around/in the family for six-ish years and never had any problems. She is absolutely wonderful and my kids adore her {and I do, too!} She is an incredible example, and I really look up to her. Not too mention she raised my husband, which is...

I am dedicating this recipe to my Mother. I am not a huge fan of lasagne because my Mother always made us Talarino. It isn’t quite as time consuming, has more veggies, and! Can be frozen for later! I love that my Mother taught me to try a lot of different kinds of foods, and for helping me to love fruits and veggies. This dish comes to together so quickly, and hides the veggies just right within the noodles and cheese, so they won’t even know they’re in there! Let me know what you think! Enjoy! I wanted to share something with you that we have implemented in our family to make sure that our kiddos get more one on one time. When we had our first child, we felt like we got a LOT of time with our son, and didn’t ever feel like we didn’t get one on one time with him. Then we had little sister, and we felt a little bit like we weren’t getting much one on one time with our oldest. {babies are needy, yah know!?} So we started doing dates with our son on his birthday day of every month. SO toward the middle of the...
During the month of October, Traci and I are doing a 31 days to a closer family series. Each day we share a post about ways to make your family closer. Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes. Not only is this one of my favorite recipes, but it is also a perfect recipe for fall time. Imagine pumpkin pie only in cake form. Delicious! What does this have to do with making your family closer? Um… it’s food. Enough said, right? Nothing like gathering around the table after dinner for a little bedtime...
I have got an awesome recipe to share with you. This is part of the 31 days to a closer family series. I believe that one of the best ways to get close to family is by sharing good food. My sister in law, Jessamyn, and I came up with this recipe for mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce. It was a lot of fun to make and it was delicious to eat. Make these with a family member and share them with everyone. It’s pretty simple. It works best if you freeze the cheese sticks before hand. Preheat...
This month, the blog is all about families. Check out this post to see the lineup for the month & see the posts that are already up. These are just suggestions that have helped our own families grow closer, but maybe they’ll help yours, too. When I was growing up, Sunday was cookie day. Every Sunday when we got home from church, my dad would help my siblings and I make chocolate chip cookies. Each Sunday we made hundreds (at least it seemed that way to me.) My favorite part about it was after they were all made, we would...
I love s’mores. I love how delicious and creamy and amazing they are. The only thing I hate is the fact that they are messy… and hot… and there is the matter of starting the fire to cook them. That part is not my favorite. That’s why I was SUPER excited when my mother in law told me about her secret weapon – frozen s’mores. ...
Holy cow. I just got done eating this cold raspberry soup and I cannot tell you how amazing it is over the internet. Seriously I wish I could reach a spoon through my computer and give you a taste. Except that it’s gone, because I ate it all. It’s that good. I had this soup the first time when I was like 12 at a neighbor’s house and I have...

I brag about my husband… a LOT. He is the most amazing person ever. I love him so! Seriously, He is my best friend, and I don’t know how I ever got so lucky to have him. How does that tie in with my baklava recipe? He is the one who first introduced me to this scrumptious dessert! I hadn’t ever heard of it,...
