I think the most important thing when embarking on any challenge is to start off right. Writing down your plan and your goals will help you to have a more concrete way to know exactly what you want and what you have to do to get there. With this 30 day money challenge, it’s important to have a plan. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail, as the saying goes. If you have everything all planned out, you’ll be able to make it through the month without a hitch. I developed a little worksheet to get you started figuring out your plan. It has a place for goals and reasons for doing the challenge, a spot for exceptions to the challenge, and a spot for you to write down your plan. I plan on saying something like how often I am going to get cash from the bank, how much cash I plan on carrying on me all the time, what I’m going to do with my debit/credit cards during the process, etc. The exceptions part is important! Make it a rule that if you don’t write it down at the first of the month, it isn’t an exception. No adding exceptions during the month. The whole point of this challenge is to gain some control over your money, so be in control!
