{Please don’t hate the blurry pic, I did that on purpose Is anyone else out there a journal-er? I LOVE journaling, I really enjoy watching myself grow as a person, and be able to look back and see and remember things and feelings and thoughts, that I would otherwise just forget. I love remembering the little things, not EVERY little thing, but some of the little things. And, being married, I love to write, often, all the big and little things I love about my husband. So that I am always focusing on the good, and remembering how...

This is part of the 31 ways to a closer family series going on right now. Be sure to check out the other posts that are a part of this series as well! Family Home Evening, of FHE, is a suggested practice by the LDS church. Family Home Evening is a great way to grow closer as a family, even if you aren’t religious. Family Home Evening is just a time set aside each week for uninterrupted family time. It could be an activity, a lesson, performing some kind of service, even going to a movie. Obviously some things help build unity more...

Welcome back all you wonderful people! With over 300 link ups last week, this party is clearly the place to be! Can we hit 400 this week? Let’s make this the most happening party around! Before we start, be sure to check out what’s going on at the blog this week. Well this month, really. During the month of October, we’re doing a 31 day series. This series is called 31 days to a closer family. We’ll be sharing one thing every day to help your family grow a little closer together.  The link that was clicked...

This month, the blog is all about families. Check out this post to see the lineup for the month & see the posts that are already up. These are just suggestions that have helped our own families grow closer, but maybe they’ll help yours, too.  When I was growing up, Sunday was cookie day. Every Sunday when we got home from church, my dad would help my siblings and I make chocolate chip cookies. Each Sunday we made hundreds (at least it seemed that way to me.) My favorite part about it was after they were all made, we would...

Hey there! I’m super excited about what’s coming up for October. Traci and I are joining up with a WHOLE bunch of bloggers over at The Nesting Place and doing a 31 day series.   We have decided to do this 31 days on how to have a closer family. We have come up with quite a few fun posts (31 to be exact) to give you all our own personal advice to help make your family stronger. I’m excited to make my OWN family stronger during this 31 days and I hope it helps you, even in some small way, to make your family a little...

The below content is sponsored by Sanofi Pasteur’s Headfirst! Expert Advice on Lice campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.   Unfortunately, head lice are common in elementary schools – about one out of every 100 elementary school children becomes infested.   Most parents would agree, the letter home informing of a head lice outbreak is not a welcome sight. The question of “What do I do?” is common. Knowing the facts beforehand can help you resolve...

This is the last post in a cloth diaper series. So far, I’ve talked about why I switched to cloth, my cloth diaper washing routine, how I fight diaper rash, and how I convinced my husband to do cloth diapers. This post is all about the money side of cloth diapers.  I’ve seen a lot of bloggers claim that they saved over $1000 by switching to cloth. I wasn’t too sold on that fact, so I decided to do some math on my own.  I always buy the cheapest disposable diapers I can that aren’t super crappy. That usually...

This link party is a huge hit! I’m so happy that I get to be a part of it. Here are my favorite links from last week: The Happy Owloween Pillow cover was ALSO the most clicked link. Nice work! While you’re here, be sure to check out the cloth diaper series going on at the blog right now.  On to the link party! Be sure to follow the rules: 1. Link to the post, not your blog’s home page 2. No sponsored posts 3. Follow the hosts (if you wanna!) Life with the Crust Cut Off  Facebook / Twitter / Pinterest / G+ / Instagram  This...

During this two week cloth diaper event, I am reviewing some of the diapers in my stash to help any future cloth diapering mama’s decide what diapers they want to buy. I received this diaper free for review purposes, but all opinions expressed are my own.   Sunbaby pocket diapers are made in China using fair labor practices. They are a one size diaper meaning they should fit your child from about 7-35 pounds. Sunbaby currently has two sizes of one size diapers, which seems a little silly, but every baby is not made the...

One of the things that a lot of people have asked me since I started cloth diapering is how my daughter doesn’t get diaper rashes with that wet fabric right next to her. Many people assume that rashes would be worse with cloth than with disposable.  Not true. At least not for us. Since we started cloth diapering, my daughter has only had one rash, and I wouldn’t really call it a rash. Just a little irritation. While there is no compelling evidence that cloth keeps rashes away, here is my theory: many people wait too long...
