You know those little squeezable apple sauce packets that you can buy that are great for traveling and diaper bag packing, but horrible for your wallet? My kids LOVE those. My almost three-year-old will eat three or four in one sitting if I’ll let him. Sometimes those things cost more than a dollar each, so that can get kinda spendy. I’ve been looking into getting some refillable ones for awhile, but wasn’t sure which company to go for. That’s why I was excited to get a chance to review Yummi Pouch’s product.

Yummi Pouch is a company based out of Issaquah, Washington that makes reusable and refillable food pouches. The make three different sizes.
The smallest size, the Mini, holds up to 2.5 ounces of food, and are great for babies who don’t eat too much in a single serving. I found that my kids can use these things (with help) as young as 9 months. Yummi Pouch also sells a spoon attachment to make feeding the baby food a breeze.
The next size comes in bright fun colors, or plain white, Yummi Pouch Brights, says it holds 6 ounces of food. Brights comes in a few different fun colors, which my kids love. It also makes it easier for me to remember whose is whose when I give one to each kid. The spout on this one comes out the side instead of the top. I’m not sure if I like that better or not, or if it even makes a difference. These ones are for sure easier to fill.
The third style is the largest pouch. It’s called the Yummi Pouch Sport and it holds up to 10 ounces. This one is designed for the on-the-go type. It makes a great water bottle for little kids, and takes up no room when it’s empty. I put water in it for my kids, and it didn’t work out too well (water is too easy to squeeze right out the spout). It would be a great one to fill with food for a long car trip though.
I have to say that I didn’t think I would like these when I first got them. I figured they would be hard to fill, hard to clean, etc. Not true. While you do need to be careful when you clean them (it’s easy for food to get left behind), they really aren’t that difficult to clean. And, they are dishwasher safe (although a dishwasher, at least mine, doesn’t get them clean). I also feel like the dishwasher sort of breaks them down a little bit. I avoid washing them too often in the dishwasher, but it’s nice to know I can throw them in once in awhile.
You can purchase these pouches on the Yummi Pouch store or on Amazon. I highly recommend them. I know I will be buying more. If you buy them on the Yummi Pouch website and use the code PARTY4YP, you’ll get 10% off. They have lots of great kits to get you started.
Be sure to like Yummi Pouch on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to stay up to date on all their new products.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
