Fresh Produce Review

I am super excited to review another product! This product is one that I was SO happy to have the chance to review. I got this dress in the mail a few days ago from Fresh Produce. When I told my husband that I ordered from Fresh Produce, he thought I was ordering fruit online. Not even! Fresh Produce is a clothing company know “for its original prints, vibrant color and stylish, comfortable clothing.” They have been around for three decades, and I can’t believe that I didn’t know about them sooner! 

So, I received the Hi-Lo Dress in bright coral to review. The first thing that I noticed was that this dress is made in the USA! I am a huge support of any company who is willing to go the extra mile to keep production in the states. I am even willing to pay extra to support that cause. 

The second thing I noticed is that the dress is stretchy. You know when you put a dress over your head and it has no give at all and you think you might rip it getting it over your shoulders? Not this dress. In fact, my first thought was “I think this dress would fit me all the way through a pregnancy!” (Please tell me that other non-pregnant women have these kinds of thoughts when trying on new clothes) The tag says it is made out of 92% Rayon and 8% Lycra. I had to look both of those things up, because I hadn’t heard of them before. According to Wikipedia, Rayon is a semi-synthetic fiber that is produced from naturally occurring polymers. So, not completely natural, but not complete synthetic either. Lycra, again according to Wikipedia, is actually another name for spandex, which is what gives it it’s stretchy feeling. 

Another thing I noticed is that according to the tag on the dress, each piece of clothing sold by Fresh Produce is unique. Because of the dying process, there can be slight fading and color variation in each article of clothing produced by the company. The line on the end of the tag sums it up well – “perfectly unique, just like you!” 

The dress is comfortable and breathable. I was afraid that it was going to be super tight or clingy, and it’s not at all. It hangs off my body without hugging it. I also love that it’s long, but not so long that it’s going to drag on the floor, and it’s not so long that I have to wear heels. (because I don’t do that. Heels and me do not mix.) To get these awesome pictures, I wore the dress around all day on the beach. It was a perfect beach dress. It wasn’t so long that it got dirty, but it was warm. It was lose enough to climb up rocks, but I still felt very pretty :) 

I love that this dress is not low cut. I don’t feel the need to wear an undershirt with it. Because it is sleeveless, and I am LDS, I do choose to wear a jacket with it. I haven’t found the perfect jacket yet, but perfect takes time, right? I love how bright the dress is. It is perfect for the summer. The dress reminds me of the beach. I feel like I should get an awesome sun hat to go with it. Is that weird? Maybe. 

So, I love the dress. And the company is great to work with. The people I talked to were very friendly, and the dress arrived very quickly. I would rate my experience with this company a 10 out of 10. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

One last thing I loved about this company. There is an extra tag on the dress that simply says “Smile. It’s contagious.”
