My husband loves hashbrowns. But, I don’t. I don’t really mind eating them, but I HATE making them. Not anymore, though! I had seen this floating around on pinterest, but never actually clicked on a link because I figured it probably didn’t work or was too much hassle or some other dumb reason. Probably because I didn’t want to add anymore to my thousands of pins. Seriously, thousands… Anyway…
I decided to try it. All I did was wash three golden potatoes, grate them in a cheese grater, and add some kind of seasoning. Salt and pepper is fine, I used Johnny’s seasoning. I turned my waffle iron on to the highest setting and sprayed it with cooking spray. I put the potatoes in the heated waffle iron and closed it. I left them in for about 8 minutes. I would check them every so often because I’m sure every waffle iron is different. By the way, I have a belgium waffle iron, but I’m sure you could do it in any waffle iron.
That’s it. At the end of the 8 minutes we had hashbrowns! They were cooked well and crunchy and there was almost no cleanup involved.
