I’m excited to announce that I was nominated for the Liebster Award.
What is the Liebster Award? I asked myself that same question when I found out that Kimberly at twinklingtrees.com had nominated me. After reading her post and doing a little research, this is what I have discovered:
- The Liebster Award is one that bloggers give to other bloggers. Anyone who is nominated must have less than 300 followers.
- When you receive the award, you are to post an “acceptance” post. That post will have 11 random facts about you and answer 11 questions that the person who nominated you asked in his/her post.
- You then nominate 11 bloggers that you like to receive the award. In your “acceptance” post, include 11 questions you want the bloggers you nominate to answer.
- The point is to get to know other bloggers and help small, just-starting-off bloggers to get more exposure. It’s also an awesome way to say “Hey, I think you are doing an awesome job blogging. Keep it up!”
- Your acceptance post must also include a link back to the person who nominated you.
So, here goes!
11 random facts about me:
- I am terrified of heights. And the dark. And rodents. And spiders.
- I changed my major at least 10 times in college.
- I graduated high school in three years.
- When I got married, I couldn’t cook anything. Not even mac & cheese. Or ramen. It’s a good thing I have a patient husband.
- When I was growing up, the first thing I remember wanted to “be” was an artist. After that it was a doctor. For awhile I wanted to be a cinematographer. I wanted to go to school in NYC. In fact, NYC was my dream destination. One time, I was in Newark, New Jersey on a tour bus that was scheduled to go to NYC, but a majority of the people on the bus wanted to go to the hotel and sleep instead. I was so close!
- When I was in 8th grade, I went to Costa Rica with my middle school Spanish Club. My three best friends were there. It was awesome. I can’t believe my mom let me go.
- I lived in the same house my whole life, until I went to college.
- My favorite thing to eat is avocados. I didn’t know that until about a year ago. I can’t believe I missed out my whole life on that amazing deliciousness.
- When I was growing up, I told people all the time that I never wanted kids. Now, after having two, I want a huge family. But, I’m just going to have them one at a time and we’ll see how many we actually end up with.
- I used to have a horrible recurring nightmare about pit bulls trying to eat me through a basement window. I remember having that dream about once a week growing up.
- I’m trying to learn Spanish by reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish. I’m almost done with it. I still don’t really know Spanish, but I’m getting better!
Kimberly’s Questions:
1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging for a couple reasons. I made this poster and needed a way to get it out to people. I also started my blog to write down favorite family recipes.
2. What is your favorite season?
Summer. I like winter for like… a week. But anything longer than that is WAY too long.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you?
I would live in lots of different places. I don’t want to be in any one place for my whole life. I want to live two years in Paris, two years in Maine, two years in Germany, two years in Colorado (maybe not those places exactly, but I want to experience LOTS of different places).
4. Have you met “the one”?
Yup!
5. Where is the best place that you have taken a vacation to?
A place called Neah Bay. It’s on the very top of the Washington Coast. It’s where we went for our Honey Moon.
6. Do you like or despise cartoons?
Depends on how many times my son wants to watch them over and over and over and over and over again..
7. What is your favorite sci fi/fantasy tv show?
I honestly don’t watch TV hardly ever. I can’t even answer this question.
8. If you read books often, which one do you think everyone should read?
I don’t read a lot, but I think everyone should read “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.”
9. Night Owl or morning person?
Night Owl definitely.
10. Which Winnie the Pooh character would you be?
Rabbit. haha I’m a grouch sometimes.
11. Who is your favorite blogger or YouTuber?
I love Middle-Aged Mormon Man. He is thoughtful and funny, and I think it’s amazing that he has kept his identity a secret.
