I am a time management fiend. I work hard to make sure I am spending my time in the best way possible. I have a lot of things I want to get done and it doesn’t seem like I have all that much time. I didn’t use to be that way though. I have learned a few things in the last few years of my life that really help me to be more efficient. Since the new year is coming up, full of new goals and plans, I thought I’d share a few tips and tricks that really help me make the best use of my time.  Make A To-Do List (daily) This...

Note: There are affiliate links in this post I am expecting my third child pretty soon. I’ve been amazed at how much less stuff I feel like I need for this child. Granted, part of that is because I already have a lot of stuff from the other two kids, but a lot of it is the fact that I’ve realized that babies don’t really need all that much stuff. Diapers, wipes, a way to eat, a car seat, some clothes, somewhere to sleep, and arms to hold them. Babies really don’t NEED swings and toys and bottle warmers and all...

Note: I am going to post some links in this post, however, they are NOT affiliate links. Just so you know 🙂 Anyone else live stinking far away from family? Haha, I love where I live, and I love enjoying new places, but taking my kids on long plane rides {or car rides!} and sometimes both! Gives me a GINORMOUS tummy ache. I may not be the most experienced flyer, but I am definitely experienced when it comes to flying with little kiddos. We lived in Florida for two years, and I took my sweet 18 month old from Gainesville, Florida to...

On today, this beautiful Halloween day, the close of the 31 days to a closer family series is happening. I have to say that posting every day for a whole month was HARD. I’m glad to go back to just 3 times a week. I really hope you have all enjoyed this series, I know Traci and I have really enjoyed putting it together for you.  For this last post, I just wanted to recap a little about all the posts we did for you. Here is a list of the posts and a link to each of them: Day 1: Becoming A Closer Family Through Baking & Giving Day...

My husband and I try our best to do date night every week like Markell said and sometimes to make it extra special, we cook together. No… definitely NOT while the kids are awake, that would just be chaos 🙂 We feed the kids a simple meal {mac and cheese anyone!?} and have a light snack and then put them to bed and start OUR dinner. Which means food that we want to eat, but our kids don’t always want to. You know what I mean? It’s amazing how close you grow by working together. You are able to talk, flirt, work with...

During the month of October, Traci & I are sharing posts on how to help your family grow closer together. Today, I want to talk about date night.  I’ve always been told that it is important for a husband and wife to continue dating each other after they are married. It is important to be able to spend some time together, without children, and continue to get to know each other. My husband and I have been married four and a half years and there is still SO much I don’t know about this man. We are currently on a two...

I had been thinking about this post for a while, after I read a talk by Dieter F. Uchtdorf entitled “One Key To a Happy Family”. If you haven’t read it before, it is really amazing. All of his talks are amazing. But what drew me in initially was just the fact that there is one key thing we can develop in ourselves and our children to have a happy family, and that is forgiveness. I have been blessed with incredible families on both sides, and can honestly say, I love them with all my heart, and trust them with all of my...

This post is part of a series on helping families get closer together. Today’s post was kind of hard for me to write because I really don’t know much about it, but I do know that it is a great way to get closer to your family.  What I’m talking about today is family history work. That is a term heard a lot in the church, but I have noticed that it is popular both in and out of the church. I see adds all the time telling me that I can out if I’m related to the people who came over on the Mayflower or if I have...

I know that during this 31 Days To A Closer Family series I’ve talked a lot about Family Home Evening. To reiterate how important I think it is, I’m doing yet another post on it.  This is a little project I’ve been planning for awhile. It didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted, but I thought it might inspire someone else to create one or something like it.  Family Home Evening boards are pretty common. In fact, I already have one, but there are a few things I don’t like about most of the ones I’ve...

I am dedicating this recipe to my Mother. I am not a huge fan of lasagne because my Mother always made us Talarino. It isn’t quite as time consuming, has more veggies, and! Can be frozen for later! I love that my Mother taught me to try a lot of different kinds of foods, and for helping me to love fruits and veggies. This dish comes to together so quickly, and hides the veggies just right within the noodles and cheese, so they won’t even know they’re in there! Let me know what you think! Enjoy! 🙂 Talarino 2013-10-23...
